1. NASI LEMAK

Definition: As easy as to find sandwich in America, nasi lemak could be loved by all Malaysian. It is also a must-have dish for all tourist from all over the world. Nasi lemak normally served with spicy gravy made with anchovy - called 'sambal bilis'. Also accompanied by fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, cucumber and egg (either boiled or fried like a flat omelette).
Danger: One serving of nasi lemak may consists of 400-500 calories! And the count goes up when you have it fried chicken (240 calories) or 'sambal sotong' (170 calories)!


2. ROTI CANAI

Definition: A classic Malaysian-Indian food which always being misinterpreted as a 'simple breakfast' by most Malaysia. It's dough is made of flour, egg & ghee. The dough is elastic & stretched into thin tissue-like sheet and 'grilled' on a hot wide pan with use of plenty of cooking oil in order to make it a tasty crispy sheet. It's normally eaten with dhal or curry gravy.

3. NASI GORENG

Definition: Rice stir-fried with spices like shallot, garlic, shrimp paste, salt and added with some shrimp, beef, chicken chunks, anchovies and some vegetables. The most popular traditional nasi goreng in Malaysia is 'nasi goreng kampung' - normally added with anchovies, hot chilies & kangkung.

4. AISKRIM

Definition: Ice cream is one of popular dessert in Malaysia. Either it is a modern or tradition ice cream, not only children would always love them; but adults too! Besides the modern ice creams made by commercial company such as Walls, Nestle, Magnolia etc, there are also tradinional home-made ice creams such as aiskrim asam boi, aiskrim bubur kacang, aiskrim milo & even aiskrim sumi jelly!

8. SUSU PEKAT MANIS (CONDENSED MILK)

Definition: This kind of sweetener is normally use in most Malaysian traditional drinks such as teh tarik, kopi ais, milo ais or nescafe ais. Those drinks are the most popular drinks especially at any mamak or Malay restaurants. To ensure the tastefulness of each drinks, drinks maker would normally put a quite large amount of condensed milk in each serving of the drinks.
